Blue Ham 2019 Contest

The Club this year as participated the Blue Ham 2019. This Contest is for the 5 MHz band which is normally used for military communications within the UK. Amateurs can use this band all year but is very restricted. However for Blue Ham it is permitted for an amateurs to talk to cadets on this band with using there cadet callsign’s for example: MRE10. This contest is design for the amateurs to enjoy but also to allow the cadets to be encouraged and gain experience on the air communicating across the country. This year the club manage to work 10 stations. The club would hope to compete next year and hopefully do even better. The club is hoping through these contests that the next generation of amateurs will come through and hopefully talk to them on other band in the future with there own callsign’s.
